The charts have been designed specifically to give an accurate reflection of the most popular new music uploaded to FameGen and are calculated in real-time which means that the stats are updated immediately. There are three sources from which these calculations are made - purchased downloads; bumped tracks; and if the track has been added to a playlist - a track will be awarded points for every week that it's included within a playlist.

These points are then totalled, and the data is displayed. At the end of the week - late (GMT) on a Sunday night - the live charts are finally calculated and these calculations are archived within a snapshot.

First of all you have to register - as a Band/Artist - it's FREE! You can then upload your music and yes, it better be original! Your music will then automatically appear in the charts. You will then need to contact all your fans, friends and family to make a difference to it's position within the charts by purchasing downloads, bumping, and adding your music to their playlists.

The more points your music accumulates the higher up the charts your music will go. It's really that simple!

Only points from purchased downloads are added to your overall accumulated points. The FameGen team took the decision that points would not be awarded for free downloads because this could be open to abuse. If you need any further clarification in respect of how the charting positions are calculated then please contact our customer service team.

To find out more, please sign in to your band/artist account and go to the music section. Click on information and you will be able to see more detailed statistics in respect of your chart positions within the International, National, and Genre charts.

Listener Accounts have been designed specifically for the Listener to discover new music from all over the world. The Listener Accounts contain tools for creating playlists, downloading singles and albums, bumping tracks, and sending messages to their favorite bands.

Band Accounts have been designed specifically for Bands/Artists to promote their cool new music all around the world. Band/Artist Accounts contain tools for uploading their tracks/images, an events section from which they can promote their gigs, tours, jamming sessions, parties and much more!

Yes - of course! With our passion for new music, we feel it's important for FameGen to give our bands/artists the world stage from which to promote their new music for free and to give our listeners the ability to discover that new music - again, for free!

This is a security issue - we request that you activate your account because we need to verify that the email address that you have given is correct and does, in fact, exist. Then, if the need arises we are able to contact you.

To listen to a song on FameGen you need to look out for the "play" symbol. Click on the Play symbol and this will open a new window. From this window you can not only play the track but also give it a bump up the charts. Remember, you can only bump a song once during a chart week. Your bump will be stored in your account to remind you which songs you have bumped during any particular week.

If you're having trouble with your play window opening, please switch off your pop-up blocker (for more information please read your browser help documentation). If you're still having trouble please contact our customer service team who will be pleased to advise you.

To discover some cool new music click on the music tab and chose from the links under the headings of browse tracks, and browse albums. There is also a link for random music - by clicking this link you could find something that is completely new and is not filtered in any way.

You can also discover great new sounds from the charts tab. From here you can search for music filtered by country and by genre.

When you've found a track you really like, please sign in to your listener account and add the track to your playlist - you won't have to search for the track and you will be able to listen to it over and over again. At the same time, you will be able to give it a bump up the charts.

Please note at the moment only registered bands/artists can create an Event.

Sign in to your band/artists account and then click new event. Complete your relevant details and add your Event.

To help you with your busy social calendar FameGen has created a listener Events list - here you can save your favorite Events. So you don't forget anything, you will be reminded when these events will be coming up. All Events that you want to save please click on "Add to Event List".

We have two FameGen Accounts. The Listener Account has all the tools for downloading DRM free music, personalising your profile, networking with other people and even arranging your social calendar. The Band/Artists account has the necessary tools for the promotion of your cool new music or your events (Gigs, Tours, Concerts, Jamming Sessions, and Parties) to a worldwide audience. Both accounts are free!

Following registration you will be sent an email containing the activation link. There will also be a code included within the email. If the activation link doesn't appear to be working please copy and paste the code to activate your account.

To upgrade your band/artist account please visit your account "Settings". From here you will be given a list of features that are available for a free account, and the benefits that you will receive from an upgraded account.

Please sign in as a Listener and click on the Invite A Friend link. From here, simply add your friends' usernames - up to 15 friend's usernames can be added at any one time - please separate each one with a comma.

The first thing you will have to do is upgrade your bands/artists free account to a Pro Account. You will find this link located in the "Settings" menu. When your account has been upgraded go to your music section, and from the settings link you can start to adjust the track prices individually for each specific track.

Yes, of course! FameGen Bands/Artists receive 70% of the download price for each track purchased. FameGen takes 30% to cover the cost of the transaction, and taxes etc.

FameGen calculates your earnings on your behalf and these are clearly detailed within the finance section. From here, you can credit your account, withdraw your earnings, or print a statement. For transparency, all transactions are archived on a monthly basis.

The price of each individual track is determined by the band/artist. Three options are made available "Play Only, No Download", "Play - Free Download", or "Play, Download at a Price". FameGen bands receive 70% of the download price.

Yes, all music on FameGen comes DRM free, in mp3 format so you can play it on all portable devices, including the Apple iPod, and the Microsoft Zune player.
