Biography
Not content with being just another hick town band The LasTaxi have managed to transcend the stigma of not being based in London. with previous diverse supports to acts like Miles "wonderstuff" Hunt, Adeva, Bryan McFadden, Keisha White, and Steranko. The band have also had some tv airplay with the track 'Lonely Boy' being used on the Channel 5 skateboarding programme RAD twice...and then the track 'Luftwaffe' was used by CHANNEL 4 On their FREESPORTS programme. Channel 4 production company BOOMERANG have also offered the band a PACT contract to use their music. Having then procured a collaboration with one of music's finest producers Nick Tauber, the band have been working on a debut album that promises to be a debut of classic example. Given that the band have so far not attempted to get record company backing and won't do until they are 110% ready, this is not a band to let the grass grow under their feet. So far things are going to plan for the band with the debut album ready for record company showcasing, they have been honing an already excellent live set, adding three part vocal harmonies, and rehearsing tirelessly to create a slick show.
Watch out for The LasTaxi they are coming to a town near you soon !
.....REVIEW:..THE LASTAXI......
Close the windows, lock the doors and pump up your stereo to The LasTaxi! Boombastic, fantastic, intergalactic - The LasTaxi are bursting with uncontrollable energy from every single note that they project from their cleverly written songs. The LasTaxi have songs that are very polished. Of course, with bands such as Jet, the Strokes and The Libertines producing songs that are raw, gritty and reminiscent of the 1970's - it's nice to hear a polished performance which seems to have been forgotten in this music industry.
Everything about The LasTaxi is influential; the way they perform as a group is solid and beefy, the songs are infectious and groovy, the lead singer stamps his authority over every single song and the style of music is marketable, clever and as fresh as newly baked bread. The lasTaxi are hot and we expect them to sell like hot cakes....
