FameGen is much more than just a music site. FameGen aims to create a 'virtual stage', allowing bands and artists to showcase their new music to a global audience.
FameGen is the brain child of Matt Richardson and Scott Thompson. “Our aim was to create a website that would give artists the opportunity to showcase their own, brand new music to a worldwide audience,” said Matt, the 20 year old creative director of FameGen.
Scott, 19, is the technical wizard who has built FameGen, enabling each group to have a free website which they can update with details about themselves and feature up-to 10 of their own music tracks. FameGen Bands/Artists can also earn some cash each time one of their tracks is downloaded in full by those logging onto the site.
Commenting on his inspiration for FameGen, Matt said: “My music has given me the opportunity to travel around the world and I know there’s a huge amount of untapped musical talent out there. My aim with FameGen is to encapsulate that great music and make it available to anyone who wants to listen, no matter where in the world they happen to be! The internet is the perfect vehicle to make that a reality.”
FameGen has already managed to capture the imagination of many artists and has some very different genres of music to prove it. Matt and Scott devised the original concept just three months ago and since then have managed to achieve a world wide presence with new bands signing up daily. FameGen listeners can check out FameGen to discover a whole brand-new world of music for them selves and find out how they can become involved to support their favourite bands.
